Shakespeare's - Henry V

  • The Ice Factory 10 Somerset Place Teignmouth, England, TQ14 8EN United Kingdom (map)

Directed by Nicole Davall

It is the culmination of the English claim to the French throne first published by Edward III at the beginning of what would become known as the Hundred Years' War.

It has been described as Shakespeare's  most 'jingoistic' play in which we can see the beginnings of a modern 'British' identity.

Nevertheless, it also examines the responsibilities leaders have towards those who follow them and the toll war takes on ordinary people fighting for goals that have little to do with their own lives.

Please note, there is no step free access to the auditorium.
